BUSINESS
The shipbuilding heritage of JAHI dates back to 1978, when its founder, Dr. Hyun-Sang Lee, established Joong-Ang Shipbuilding and Engineering Co., Ltd. (JASECO), an affiliated company of the firm. Building on this foundation, the company designs and constructs a wide range of public and commercial vessels incorporating zero- and low-carbon technologies, including hybrid electric propulsion and hydrogen electric propulsion, to advance the energy transition in shipping. In the offshore wind sector, the company plays a broad role spanning from project development to the fabrication of substructures such as monopiles, jackets, and floating foundations, as well as offshore substations. As a shipyard, JAHI also designs and builds various support vessels required for the installation, operation, and maintenance of offshore wind farms, stratigically focusing on Service Operation Vessels (SOVs) and Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs).

JAHI is located in the Daebul Industrial Complex, one of the key clusters of Korea’s shipbuilding industry. This strategic location offers favorable conditions for heavy cargo transportation and vessel launching, while also enabling efficient procurement of raw materials and collaborative resources through the concentration of related industries in the area.
